VUWSA choose their Mathletes team
VUWSA have selected their team to represent Victoria in the 2016 season of television quiz show University Challenge.
The team—consisting of four men and one woman—were chosen following a test in which they had to answer 100 questions in 20 minutes.
The average score of those who trialled was between 30 and 50, with the top scorer correctly answering 77 of the 100 questions.
The team is made up of Taran Molloy, Alasdair Keating, Hamish Hirschberg, Kieran Ireland, and Harriet Plant.
Four of the five team members competed in the challenge last year.
VUWSA Engagement Vice President Nathaniel Manning said he believed this year’s team is well placed to take out the top prize after only reaching the semi-finals last year.
Filming will take place at Avalon Studios in Lower Hutt later this year.
The show’s air date is still to be confirmed.
